Sexual addiction is a popular model to explain hyper-sexuality is sexual urges, behaviors, or thoughts that appear extreme in frequency or feel out of one's control. These other addictions, including drug, alcohol and gambling dependency, involve substances or activities with no necessary relationship to our survival. Even the most genetically vulnerable person will function well without exposure to, or provoked by, these addictive activities.
